Arb Apps

It could use a taughtline on there

Adam, tautline has just been added. Your app will auto update next time you open it to include this. Yosemite to follow soon.

I'm going to get both apps anyway, but on the Fungi one, can you eastern Canadian and US purchasers tell me if the species are close enough to the UK ones to be helpful? I'm really not that up on my fungi and rots since we have so few out here. But I'll need to get up to speed faster when I'm back down south

what happens when you click through to the link for android apps from the arboristapps site?

I never installed google play. I previously had market then next time i looked google play was on there...it must have been updated on its own. Have you gone through your phone settings and tried updating?

I'll let your countrymen answer this one better, but I will tell you that 91 of the fungi in the database are listed as known US species. We do need to improve on the tree species though. There are currently 42 on the app to choose from, which covers most of the common ones. There will likely be some 'regional' trees that will need to be added, and will be done so based on feedback over the coming months.

There is no google play on my device. Mine is an SGH-959D which isn't on the list of aupported devices, but I tested a download of a free app on the desktop vesion of Google play and it delivered it to my phone....so I don't know.

I have been all through the settings on my phone and cannot find the way to update the device. Maybe I'll just take it to my service provider and ask them.

Sure would like to get these.

Oh..IT IS on the list of supported devices...I think.

Love it so far, only real feedback is maybe have an option only to search for updates once a week or something similar? I pooped it out today to try and ID on the fly, and the wait was longer than usual.

If you made an update for canker diseases, that would be awesome too. That could cover another whole app though I suppose huh? lol

Yes, that would come under a pest and diseases app really...watch this space :)

I'll see if something can be done about the wait time. Im assuming you were probably in a poor reception area and it took time checking to see if there were updates(even though there are no new ones in the past week)

Love the tree fungi app. Speaking as an Android user, though, it needs a little more testing on that platform. It must just be a port from the Apple apps. There is no way in Android to exit out of the app-no exit menu option, no way to back out, so the program stays in memory.

Good work! Thanks.

Hi Tim,

Please update your fungi app if you havent got it already set to auto update. The back/exit button is now functional within the app.

Thanks treespotter, hope you like them!

Further to my post before, the arborist knot app on android has now also been updated so the back button on the device closes the app.

Steve,

Can you try and fit the Inonotus obliquus into a future update in the Fungy app.
This is a (the) major birch killer in the Netherlands and can't be left out of the bunch.

Cheers,

The both apps look great. I'll probably fiddle with the both the whole weekend and let you know what I think in a PM.

Wolter
