Anyone Feeling The Pressure of Winter?

Best winter yet self-employed (5 yrs?). Not as busy as flyingsquirrel but less overhead too. A shop that fits my equipment is on the list, being able to do maintenance indoors in the winter would be sweet. I do what @evo suggested and push as much work to the slow season as possible. Orchard pruning is super easy to sell throughout the year. Get known as someone who does it and word gets around, many folks hate doing apples etc or are fucking terrible at it.

Larger pruning cuts done closer to the end of dormancy, removals by leach fields, less lawn damage and generally less rigging needed when the ground is frozen and no leaves to rake so take-downs can be cheaper for the client. Maybe give an option when quoting work in the growing season with two prices? Many rich people migrate south from here and want less hubub during the summer too.

That town survives because of that rodent.

I'm sorry, but that rodent is the cause of climate change. He's gotta go. I'll send the town council a guinea pig or a capybara or something. They'll just have to adapt. Now, I've got to pack a bag, a couple of gun cases, and catch a plane... before it's too late and we have six more weeks of coronavirus, or something.

If the bastard goes nocturnal on me, I'm ready for him.
