Anyone else freakishly slow this year?

If anyone is slow, but gives super quality work and wants to sub contract for us, I could use the help. We are getting over run with work again and it's going to be a stressfull year again. Worked both Sat and Sunday on storm damage again. I hope we don't get a big widespread storm, or I'll go insane.

Looking for a fast effecient crew, isa cert arborist on the crew, all PPE worn, attention to detail cleanup.

The phone hasnt been ringing near as much as last year at this time, but none the less Im still burried in work. It dont take much to keep one guy busy :). I have had a rash of cancellations. People that call every week asking when are you going to get here, you give them a date (answering machine) and they finally call back the day before saying I dont want to do it now. Leaves me scrambling to get something lined up, and pi$$es me off.

I wonder if the election year has anything to do with it? People are insecure about what the future may hold?

Still working 6 or 7 days a week that being said. Back log till probably September or early October.

We have thought about that. We actually just got verbage on our bills stating pay us in 10 days or you will be charged (in much nicer words). It seams it all goes in cycles, we have a spell of cancellations, people not wanting to pay, the add on artists, and the people that are extremely happy with everything you do. We just ride that wave and hope the last one lasts the longest.
We actually have been talking about charging for estimates. And then reducing that cost off the bill when the job is complete, but we have a little work to do before we can get there. Thanks

We're steady. Some cancellations but we give them a smile and say we understand, offer payments or let them know we'll honor the price for 1 yr.

Economic news is presented like home invasions or murder putting fear in people for no valid reason. Election year? Every year is election year in the good ole US of A. Again perpetual bombardment of negativity over what the other guy did to you and foreboding a dark future of anarchy and lawlessness unless you vote for them! (Note they don't really mention what they'll do if elected beyond not being the other guy). Oh and hot on the heels of that piece of propaganda is the other guy's bit on the evils inflicted by the first guy! Every year, same sh*t, different day.

We're in a negative news cycle that is putting a chill on the market. It too shall pass.....

I am now booking pretty much into the 3rd week of August with some good $ jobs. July has been great, hit all my weekly goals I set out to do at the beginning of the year. No complaining here! Guys are happy, we have been starting early on the hot days, going hard and shutting er down earlier! Phone is still ringing with my regular customers!

Are you still with Pavey? We had Phil down to assist us with the spider lift the other day with a mangled up storm damaged willow in Beaverton. Made quick work of it. Awesome machine for sure! We put in 15-18 hour days last week doing storm work (all insurance claims) was a great week! Well worth the long days, lack of sleep and sore muscles! Back logged with work but have patient and loyal customers.
