About 4 years ago I went to tie a knot for a lowering line that was going to be shock loaded, slightly. As I stood their pondering my normal knot, I had an idea and tied a knot I've never seen before.
Long story short, I hence forgot the knot, as I did re-tie it multiple times and used it a few times, but never got to put it the long term test. I kick myself now for not taking notes, but for the short time I used it, it was easy to tie, wasn't an "axe knot" and it worked!
I was reminded of this the other day when I goofed on a knot I used when pulling a tree over with my truck and was reminded of the term "axe knot". LOL!
Anyone here ever come up with their own knot or different version of an existing knot? Any pics?
