Another fallen climber

Norm, just seen this post. Best wishes and prayers to his family and friends are going out to him. Keep us posted on his progress.

And doctors are making great strides in spinal cord injuries now. Tell him to keep his head up and do what the dr's tell him to do.

I know the guys that Jerry went down to work with in GA, and I can't imagine the effect it is having on that company.

I hope Jerry continues to exceed the chances that are given to him.

Lots of thoughts and prayers being sent out to him from NC.

Norm. How is Jerry doing? And how did he cut his rope? I'd like to know.

Because, I nearly cut my climb line with a follow through cut today. I actually hit myself in the chin today. I was cutting a dead stub above my head. I was about 55' up in an Ash tree. I had my TIP and my lanyard holding me in, so if I cut my TIP I would have been safe. I haven't had a hand saw cut in about 4-5 years

Thank you for asking Jamin. He is home now. Unfortunately, nothing physical has changed, still a C6 quad. Has a joystick controlled wheelchair. Attitude is phenominal. He told me he was asked by the ISA to give a presentation in Providence at the annual convention, which I plan on attending.
He doesn't remember how the rope was cut. It was done with a freshly sharpened Silky Sugoi, which he was told by the individual that did the sharpening "It's sharper than new."
The rope was cut near the friction hitch, exactly wear, I don't know.

do you know if he had a floating crotch and a base tie and cut the line to the trunk? or did he cut the line in front of his harness.

From what I was told, he had a ring & ring friction saver installed and was pruning with an eye & eye on Blaze, doubled rope technique.
