DO you think there is anything that a pro could glean from either video, besides the obvious. I'd guess there was a bypass cut on the face of the first tree. They could only move the tree so far before the kerf closed and the tree would go no further. Then he had to keep cutting until the hinge failed.. They were moving the tree with the rope..
On the second, with a good face and back cut the tree could have landed flat and not kicked back to the ladder.. the collision also might have been avoided if the ladder (or climber on hooks) was set up on the back side of the tree. A back release cut could have been made to facilitate that. If it was set up right, the climber could even release it with a handsaw cut.
