definitly gets an ascender. You need an foot ascender too and a foot strap. I got the Kong futura hand ascender at Hollys recomendation. and it is sweet cause its so little. I dont even notice it on my harness. My ascent tree is now kickin it in the bag.
I have not flown a uni, but in reality, the real value is going SRT, not really which tool you use to accomplish it.
Without comparison I cant speak too much but I dont see how the Uni would make that much of a difference, the true value is being on a single line. I am with country boy in that I really love hitches and think they are elegant and give a huge range of control that I do not see mechanicals offering.
I would spend 300 on a uni in a heart beat if I knew that it really performed better than a hitch, but innately I doubt it, and so wont spend it until I see how I can swing and descend at the same time with precision. I cant see a mechanical replicating the awesome control of a hitch, we'll see. I'm open to anything.
cost is an issue here because 300 dollars if it doesn't work like a hitch would be a huge disappointment for me. So i would definitely need to play with one for a while.
If the question were $300 to go SRT then hell yeah Id spend it three times. but really at this point all you need to go SRT is $21.
