That was sorta my concern with the gri gri. Wasn't made to be a static anchor. The way the rope will feed when paid slowly makes me wonder about it's use for this application.
Also, when I do use the gri gri as a ground anchor I also tie an alpine butterfly, but tie it 6in. or so from the cam in case the rope slips the knot won't get crammed in the gri gri hindering rescue.
