So is this thing gonna be better than my Rope Runner?
I got the baby hump piece also. Now I just wish I had a 500' cliff to rappel down. Climbing up trees to go down for fun is hard work.
. The akimbo has the ability to go on and off the rope much faster than the runner while remaining one solid unit. It’s multiple adjustments will make it easier to adapt to all different ropes and weights of climbers. I believe the runner may let you bomb out more precisely and tend slack faster for advanced climbers but the akimbo will suit the needs of all experience levelsSo is this thing gonna be better than my Rope Runner?

Fortunately you can’t go wrong with either. If you do more removals I’d say runner, if you do more large pruning with multiple redirects akimbo. I have a feeling the on off of the akimbo could benefit on crane jobs if ran in a dbrt set up because of all the time saved when retrieving your climbing line from the ball with your system detached from the rope. This way you don’t have to feed , at times, over 100 feet of rope through your zig zag or hitch. You May have to have a unique set up on your bridge because the akimbo does not have an attachment point for the other leg of a doubled rope but soon enough someone will come up with a solutionYes, I noticed. It looks like a mechanical marvel. I might get one if they ever go on sale. I only paid $230 for my rr.

I don't understand.
What on the bridge?Rigging plate
Could do directly on the bridge for a more elegant / permanent solution. Short term you could connect to your bridge with a carabiner or similarWhat on the bridge?
Plate seems bulky and not practical for other climbing. The biner clanking on the akimbo makes me a bit weary. I was thinking of girthing one of these to the ring on my bridge and then attaching my biner to this letting it sit above the akimbohttp://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?category_id=223&item=1509#detailCould do directly on the bridge for a more elegant / permanent solution. This is what I do when working with a crane, just carabiner to my bridge. It’s not a problem and you’re just going down to the next cut. Very fast to get out of the crane and cinched to the stem.Could do directly on the bridge for a more elegant / permanent solution. I use the hydra. I didn’t think I would like it at first but now I love it. It also gives you the added benefit of a built in swivel.A hitch climber or hydra might even give you enough clearance
