Adjustable Prusik

Detail of the adjusting element. As you can see, it becomes obvious how N.E. achieves the increadible 5000 lbs. tensile, the core is technora, or some other high-tech fibre (my poor scissors!).

FSE is a rope made by Gleistein in Germany that's popular here for use in friction-hitches. It doesn't really matter what you use, I would recomend a double braid, though. The wee prussic would probably cinch down too hard on a hollow braid making it hard to adjust once loaded. Yes, it is home made, but it is a standard double braid splice.

Hey, no big deal about sharing. What's the use of sitting on concepts, if not to discuss and improve them with others?

Mark, actually I do have a couple of other ideas, but they'll have to wait till later this year. But I think you can start to get excited now already... if you know what I mean. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
