ACRT Inc. is currently meeting with highly qualified candidates who can operate independently, as part of a group responsible for the identification of hazardous vegetation along critical utility infrastructure. This position requires an educational background in forestry, horticulture, or arboriculture, with experience in these fields. ISA Certified Arborists and candidates with a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License or Massachusetts Certified Arborists credentials are preferred. Consulting Utility Foresters will be expected to inspect, identify, and evaluate hazardous trees along utility rights-of-way. Serving as a liaison between the utility and their customers, and the contractors on the system, the forester will identify and catalog the trees and be responsible for the notification of intended operations to customers. The ability to educate the client’s customers of the program and to obtain permission for future planned work is a necessary skill. Locating parcel owners is a key function of this role. Knowledge of GIS and the ability to apply it to Vegetation Management is important to this role. Strong tree identification of Eastern US species is a preferred skill.
