One, we need to examine proven research more closely. Two, holding the hand of a friend in a coma..or "praying" doesn't seem to attract too many critics, so why dismiss some guy who 'tree-whispers' so effectively, at least by his claims?

Because it goes against the "norm" and is opposite of what we do to make a living.

I support my family by making sawdust 70% of the time and 30% chemicals. If I could do it all by physically hugging trees, then so be it.

Maybe I should try it.

Then I will call Cloe for my free reading!!

I traveled to colorodo 4 years ago to hold the hand of a friend in a coma and pray for him. He died right in front of me. I did not charge him or his famiely a dime. The doctors did. think about it.

That is one thing that gets me about this treatment is they get paid not matter what happens. We on the other hand end up paying if things go wrong in one way or another.

Oakwilt, Just between you and me.... I'm not bashing this guy. If he were to do a talk around here I would pay to listen. I actually have a profound intrest in metaphysics. For the record, I also get paid no matter the out come. I'm sure as hell not the one that compacted the soil, laid all the turf grass and made flush cuts for 50 years on some poor stressed out tree I've been called to treet. Yup, I get paid no matter the out come to.

So I just talked to this guy on the phone. He would tell me nothing of the methods he uses or how any of this works. He said that he can't relese any of that because some one might use it the wrong way and end up damaging a tree. Very responceable of him, don't you think. The science of tree hugging is now so addvanced that it could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Lets just all pray to god that Iran or Palistine don't get there hands on it.

No sweat, I get 'em too.

I'm not judging this guy at all, but am a bit critical of his particular use and smug protrayel of his art.

Afterall, Nancy Reagan used a mystic before pressuring Ronald how to act on international affairs, millions consult the astrology charts before heavy decisions, and we still wonder about that black cat crossing our paths - or the number 13. Someone did cut those boulders 38 times and transport them a couple miles to place them exactly where they fit without electricity, cables, or horsepower of any kind, let alone our insistance that they had no command of physics or engineering to do it with. Machu Picchu stands testament that we have forgotten more than we think we know and anytime a doctor designates "a miracle has occured" shows that there are things we still are in need of recognizing.

On tree health I also don't understand many things, but use a wider perspective to visualize a root cause, the starting point of all treatments sans the chemical quick-fixes industry markets readily. This guy is using marketing techniques mastered by the chemical salesmen, refusing to divulge important elements of his work, and is a new player in a game where thousands of people are growing disrespectful for the failures of convention to fix our problems. If he plays his gig right, he'll make a killing making a living. So do the Imitrix and Advil and War on Terror contractors. No big deal.

It's just that if we question the conventions as much as we question the new comers (and new ager's), everyone might benefit.

Well, just because it's against the norm doesn't make it bad. It's never good to think we know everything. But while there are many promising avenues of "alternative" practices, it is not at all helpful to make claims about the magick with a k properties of laying hands on trees without any evidence. Just showing a before and after photo really doesn't do it (and is it just me, or do some of those trees still look really lousy "after"?), and testimonials don't do it. Do at least some rudimentary studies and even if you can't explain why, show that something quantitative really is happening. I'm not trying to outright dismiss something just because it's different, but it's hard to take something seriously that appears so...magick. Still, that doesn't mean it doesn't work, it just has many of the signs of b.s.
