A Photo Story of Thanks To all Climbers

That is an event in West Virginia called Bridge Day held at the New River Gorge Bridge. That is looking up after my rappel 850 feet at the others coming down in heavy wind.
Curious what you rap'd on from that height. Some devices require feeding rope due to tail weight if it's all hanging free.

Cool stuff, Jim. Gotta put my SPRAT L1 to use in an industrial application.

I wonder if even a Rope Wrench would be compromised with 800+' of tail. Does anyone bag rope in industrial settings?

I don't mean to drift off topic here. Photos only, right.

Cheers

I pooped my pants just looking at the photo and heights don't really bother me. Makes me want to start rec rock climbing

One thing I love about that photo is just how out of focus the ground is. It evokes the lessons of Robert Knott, becoming more in touch with the 3 dimensional space around us all as we climb. Of course we need to be aware of ALL our surroundings...our co-workers, the root plate, structures, wildlife...but this photo is special. The climber could be anywhere, at any height, a tree in outer space, even. Nice for the imagination. Thanks!
