372\'s are gone

I missed the 372xp train here locally from our two dealers (both shops sold their last ones in the last 48 hours

). I would like any reviews on the 576xp from people running them for several months or more. Any opinions will do.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Yeah they are GONE!

The 372 will be re-released this fall with a strato charged, XTorq, engine. Same outfit, new inners im told. Hopefully they dont mess it up like the 575/576 fiasco.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Any re-vamp on tried and trusted equipment by a manufacturer is usally a nightmare. Recall the stihl 4mix BS when they first arrived? Takes a few years to work the bugs out.

Re: 372\'s are gone

I'm happy to have three 372's.....two woods ported, and one only muffler modded....the 75 cc version.....and three 7900 Dolmars. I'd say I have the 70-80 cc size taken care of till I'm at least, oh, 90!!!

Re: 372\'s are gone

I was lucky enough to grab another 372 and had it ported for the logging. I don't know about the 576 to soon around these parts for other cutters to tell. I do rememver when the 575 was released I demoed it at with a bud who nabbed one and after 2 hours of lott clearing was ready to swap back with my bud. Heavy and loss of power at times, I just hope the new 372's don't start out with problems they are a great saw and should be left alone.

Re: 372\'s are gone

My dealer has some left I just bought one a month ago and called him today to get one more if anybody is looking for one let me know and I will try to get a deal on the ones he has left they will be for power head unit only.

Agreed, the same engine is in the Jonsered CS2171 which is what I use, its not as refined as the 372 though, the 372 is a better saw than the CS2171 despite using the same engine, not sure why?

Re: 372\'s are gone

I found a 372 today and drove 45 miles to get it. I told the shop owner I heard they couldn't be found and he called his rep and said they could get them no problem. wonder if it is a regional thing?

Re: 372\'s are gone

He called and talked to the rep and said 372 XP available now. There could have been a miscommunication or possibly salesman fluff. But I asked specifically. My local dealer says he can;t get them until the fall and said it would be the new model. either way I am glad I got the one I want. I also bought a used riding mower. I thought it was kinda funny, I paid $825 for a chainsaw and $300 for a riding mower with a bagger.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Congrats on the 372, it is all over people calling around for dirty saws. I am just hoping that they haven't changed the saw from what it started as. I have 2 372s and have them set up for the woods and one for doing tree work.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Chris,
Some dealers stock piled them. Dave at AA had a bunch of the XP's a month or so ago, and was up there today and they had none. Glad I picked my new one up at ISA in RI last year.

I would imagine your NH dealer stocked up and hasnt sold out yet. Whats his name? Im sure TB can help releive him of some of his over stock.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Just talked to my dealer, the new 372xp he is selling is the 372 xt had listed, It's 372xp xtorq strato. Just be careful on the one you buy. The old ones have the decomp on the side, the new ones have the decomp in the topcover.

Re: 372\'s are gone

Shouldnt be any difference in feel. Same crankcase and handle. Just different intake, cylinder, piston, etc, bolted on the old 372xp.

Re: 372\'s are gone

I mean the power and torque to weight . The dealer I go to always has a demo saw for industry guys to try out and will sell the saw later when he has more in stock.

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to check it out when it comes in, though the dealer said that the saw he has coming is one of 8 that the factory has left.
