2012 Vermeer S800TX - $16,000?

Hey friends,

I'm looking at a package deal on a pair of 2012 Vermeer S800TX with ~1,700 hours. They are the largest of the Vermeer mini-skids. I'm not decided yet if I'll be able to keep both or if I'll need the funds for other equipment.

How much would you consider a fair price for one of these in good condition? I.E. if I had to sell one of them what do you think I could get and would you want it? I'm thinking $16,000 but these don't come up for sale very often so there isn't a lot to compare it to.

Comes with a good Kubota engine, some service records, and the stock bucket. Thanks and if I can't keep it hopefully I can help someone else out!

Based on what a Bobcat MT-52 would go for.......you should be able to pull $10,000 out of a single unit it its somewhat clean and the hydraulics function properly. Those motors are bullet proof. I had an older wheeled 600 with the 25hp kubota. Ran like a champ but the hydraulic pumps were junk.

Thanks for the input! Do you think the larger S800TX would be worth more for it's larger capacity? It's 840lbs lift to the Bobcats 520; 2,400lbs tip to 1,600 on the Bobcat; 15GPM to 12GPM. Our main reason for the larger machine is the tools that can be run on the higher hydraulic flow.

With 1700 hours on a 5 year old machine, I don't think $10k is an unreasonable number to figure with. New, they were in the mid 20's (I don't know the exact price).

Your best bet it to run both of the machines with the attachments you plan on using. Evaluate how they perform (speed, stability, and ease of use). I've found that the Vermeer machines run larger tools efficiently but are somewhat of a dog when it comes to moving material around with the general purpose bucket (slow ground speed / high machine weight) What may work well for your may not work well for others. I would buy a mini skid based off of function rather than price. I think $16,000 is good number for the pair. 1700 hours scares me a bit. I've seen machines with 1500 hours than needs pumps and drive motors. Sticker shock is an understatement when you need parts from Vermeer. The are readily available but are VERY expen$ive.
