200t = Noisemaker ?

Just putting it out there!

You know what I mean by 'noisemaker' right?

I mean, the throttle response on a ported version is unsurpassed for sure.... but a couple of months back my starter-cord broke on the 201, so while it was getting fixed they sent me up a 200t. The motor was screaming and all, but I didn't feel I was making the progress one would expect from all that noise. I used it for about 10 mins or so and thought hmmm, thats not how I remembered it.

The same thing happened again today, this time (different tree company) sent up a nearly new 200t but with smaller 14in bar. Again, really punchy and responsive, higher revs....but I swear, my 201t with 16in bar is a faster cutter.

Granted, my 201 has a ported muffler, limiter removed and advanced ignition timing....and it surely does not 'sound' like its doing a lot of work....but, much like the original metal 020 from years back, low revs but eats up the wood.

Before I had it modded, the 201 with 16in was admittedly, woeful....but as is, I honestly wouldn't swap it for a 200.

Show of your right forearm and wrist and burn marks on your thigh!
That beast was a real hammer! Hated it from the day the 020T arrived.

In our mind everything is bigger and better.

After porting muffler on my 201t that saw is the loudest top handle in the fleet. Who did your modifications Reg? The couple of saw shops I spoke to don't want to touch the 201t. I have to say porting the muffler made a huge difference in how that saw performed. Cheers!
