2 Horse chestnut removals

Reg you are master at your craft. I rather enjoy your work and your ability to showcase it via Youtube but I am concerned you may leave the industry to go to Hollywood (or whatever the U.K. equivalent is).

I hope not and look forward to the next one. I am sure that is a lot of time and effort to edit and produce the quality vids you are known for. They are entertaining and I have learned a great deal as well. Thanks for taking the time to share your work and I also appreciate your willingness to answer questions that arise about your techniques, choices, and equipment. Be safe.

Its really no big thing dude but thanks anyway.

Reg, does your fisherman's knot ever bump or interfere with your friction hitch, thus preventing it from grabbing or performing properly??

[/ QUOTE ]
Not that Ive noticed Cory. The knot is tied to a seperate karabiner which might make some difference. I dont spend much time thinking about it to be honest.

Hey Reg, I was just wondering what size and lengths those spider leg balancers were? Are they ¾”?

[/ QUOTE ]

Chris, the leg are indeed ¾. I really would prefer 5/8 with an extra yard in length though….in the New Year.

Reg, have you had a chance to work with any of the HM (High-Modulus) rope slings such as Amsteel in any of your crane work?

No Chris I haven't. We're usually well within a SWL for static lifts so Ive never suffered from a lack of confidence in the gear that I already have. Thanks

Thanks for the info Reg. I haven't tried any HM line either, but I've heard some good things about it, so I'm thinking of splicing up a few slings and giving it a go.

I was very upset when I nicked a brand new 9/16" double braid lowering line on a job last week. It would have been half bad if it was towards the end of the line, but of course it was in the middle.

I may splice some slings out of that line now too, though 9/16" slings aren't that big.
