Today was my first climb up a tree! Been looking into doing this for sometime now, and it all came together today. First and foremost thankyou to everyone on this site for all the great information that I've gotten here. Thanks to Rob at Fresco who helped get me set up with the gear. I contacted a place that has a climber and asked if they would be willing to help me out, they agreed and we had it set up for today! I gotta tell you that I look at trees and pruning a whole new way after being "in" a tree. Learning my knots before hand was a big plus, but having someone who has been doing it for years is a great help and confidence builder. Thanks again to everyone for the help. As I get better and learn more things about climbing, this will deffinately help me to accel in my job (city arborist- never left the ground).

Congratulations! Make sure you learn those knots well enough you could do them in your sleep, and bring some pics to share

congrats on the climb, the only suggestion i can make is to check with the guys on this web site before buying more equipment . they will save you hundreds of dollars giving you the perspective you need on equipment you probably dont, ive spent so much money on so many things that i no longer use. enjoy your new life that you dont even know youve started

Sorry Guys, No Pics. Hopefully next Time I'll get a couple. Thanks for the advice on checking on the necessary equipment before I buy it. Later.
