    Best sources of employees?

Fire season is coming to a close so maybe reaching out to or setting out flyers at your nearest wildfire outfit. There are quite a few fire-to-tree guys in my area and I’m not far from you. Just a thought.

    Certified tree climber certification evaluator

That is correct. They want you to demonstrate you can safely/properly lanyard in and advance your TIP.

    New Zealand climbers connection

There are tons of opportunities in NZ for Arborists. Based on what visa you get will limit what you are able to do for work. Unless you hold a residency visa you will not be able to contract climb and will be limited to employee status. It won’t be difficult to find work as an employee BUT be...

    Certified tree climber certification evaluator

It is such a bummer to see how difficult it is to get this cert. I’m an evaluator and we have tried to get some leeway to set up a skills test locally besides at the climbing comp. Unfortunately the skills test has to be held during an ISA sponsored event and you can’t just test with an approved...

    Rec climbing biz for customers

David Anderson from Canopy Watch International does some pretty awesome rec. climbs for the public as well as adaptive sports climbs. The turnouts are always impressive. Picking his brain would be a good place to gain some knowledge of the liabilities and how he goes about it.

(No longer for sale) Immaculate 2023 Bandit 15XP, 6.2, (No longer for sale)

Yeah, up North is a bit rough but there are some good ones as well. The team at Grace Tree Service out of Hayden are a pretty good group of people. Preston with the city of Post Falls would also be someone to connect with for further good connections. At least with it being pretty “basic” up...

What part of Idaho are you looking at? Not to derail your sale at all as I’m sure it will go pretty quick at that price.

    ISA Tree Climber Recert.

Anyone you work with can sign off on it for you. There should be forms somewhere on the website. If you can’t find them, shoot me a PM and I’ll get them to you.

Looks like a pretty smokin deal! Also wish I was in a place to need it. Although, don’t we need to get things we want sometimes

    Meniscus Tear

Meniscus are one of the most common ortho surgeries. Unfortunately there are different grades and most can be fixed with rehab, or basic orthoscopic surgery that shaves out the flap portion of the tear. I know quite a few people who have had the scoping and it is pretty basic and back to work...

    Meniscus Tear

Like the handle of a 5 gallon bucket. The meniscus basically splits in half, attached at each end, and flips under the tibia. Usually locks the knee and keeps from fully extending which is my case as well. Thanks for that. I keep reading differing times and it seems those who “feel better” but...

Dang man, that sounds brutal! Is it back to 100% or did you lose any permanent “features”?

    Meniscus Tear

Has anyone here had a bucket handle tear of the medial meniscus? If so, curious what your down time was. I just got my MRI results and am pending scheduling a surgery. Obviously not looking forward to the recovery time but am looking for some insight. I’m torn (pun intended) about this so some...

Can You Make Money Planting Trees?

Yes, planting can be very profitable. With that said, I still send plantings to a buddy who works as owner/operator because his overhead is so low. Also, the aftercare is what really keeps me on the fence about planting. Once you leave the site, how are they going to follow through with an on...

    Double Handed Ascender in Comp.?

My understanding is that for the ascent event it is sufficient without a knot under or prussic above because there will be zero lateral movement. If you were to use it in masters, you would get DQ’d because of lateral movement.

    Double Handed Ascender in Comp.?

That was the exact plan. Unfortunately comp was this weekend and I sprained my MCL on Thursday night. Next year!

    Double Handed Ascender in Comp.?

@Wrangler interesting and thank you for taking the time! I have gotten a response from Craig Bachmann and he said all good as long as each cam has its own rope and there is no lateral movement. Wonder if their response is in regard to a single cam, single hand ascender? That is also good info...

    Double Handed Ascender in Comp.?

I can’t find anything in the rule book about this. Can a double handed ascender be used in the ascent event as life support? Obviously this would be on two separate ropes, one for each cam and there would be a tether attachment of some sort to a harness. The little bit I found says that in 2017...
