    That is what it looked like to me too (a Silver Maple) but it is only 6 ft in circumference and I didn't see any maple leaves around.

    Sorry, the logos that were above were the images. For some reason or another they weren't showing up. Here are the photos. Sorry they aren't as clear as I would like, but the server wouldn't let me post them bigger.

    Tree ID help

    This may be a very easy ID, but for some reason or another I am struggling with it. The bark looks like any of a number of things. The bark in the canopy looks like alder, birch (darker grey than I would be used to), maybe some other things as well. It is in Hennepin County, MN. Any ideas?
