By extra rope running through the device, I mean that to go 2 ft, 4 ft of rope passes through the device. I guess the runner has to only hold half the weight in ddrt as srt. Either way, when using in ddrt I find a thinner softer rope works better, imo.
I use my runner pro ddrt for all crane work. It's not as smooth ddrt as srt but still works great for me. I do run a smaller diameter rope when using it in a ddrt configuration to help reduce the drag created with extra rope running through the device.
Also I find a magnetic trending point...
What is the safety factor used to create the wll for crane slings, specifically dead eye rope slings? I was under the impression it was 5:1 but just wanted to check that.
I've recently used 3/8 stable braid with good success. I was actually worried it wouldn't create enough friction but I was happy with what I could still handle
I just downloaded them today. I need a better understanding of rope material and construction to feel confident in what splice to utilize on which ropes. Like can those splices be performed on other ropes or only those?
We tried it with 100lb weight difference and it worked. We concluded that your more taking stretch out of the rope. You just have to create enough slack to unweight the system. Then either unclipping like in my video. Or if there's a running bowline or equivalent slide it higher to creat more...
Here you go. A very simple system using stuff we all have. Also rather versatile. I like that it gets away from cutting anything. Let me know what you think.
I've used several different super static lines. I only use them with a basal tie off so there is more rope in the system to absorb a fall. Also like said before it's nice having a rope runner that will slide when over loaded.
For me the super statics worked better with the rr. Fell through...
