Had a cutoff wheel hit something it wasn't supposed to and showered my face with steel sparks. Had my safety glasses on but 3 pieces still managed to find my eye. Eye doctor removed them all but I will be bloodshot and weepy eyed in my left eye for a few days. Just a reminder that you just can't...
There is a good chance that in the next few months I will downsize considerably. To much effort and red tape to make my adventure worth it. I will still rec climb and do simple stuff for family but a lot of my stuff will just not be needed anymore at that point.
You guys that have been here...
So I took a chance on a saw I will probably never use lol. I picked it up for $200 from a friend who says it ran fine and then all the sudden it stopped running and he could not get it to fire back up. I know these saws are known for wires grounding out and other annoying "old school" ignition...
The wife and I are going for a road trip in Sept. No real plans, just heading up towards Maine. Maybe we go that far maybe not, just winging it as we go. You guys that live that direction or used to live up there should definitely shout out. Just looking for "Can't miss" scenery, food, cool...
So I have a chance to buy this one for @$50-$100. Doesn't seem to be getting spark at the moment but everything else seems okay, give or take. So the question is "Is an 036 worth rebuilding?". Where is the rebuild $ line to quit, $400??? The bar alone is almost worth the price he wants.
Never quoted this way before but that's what they want and it kind of makes sense maybe.
Basically it is a half day cost and a full day cost, not a job cost as the job is on going a few times a month for years probably. They have 10+ acres with 3 buildings on the property. The rest is wooded...
So I went to Home Depot today and for less than $100 bucks I got both of these. Still need to fine tune with some wood or foam but you get the idea. Never going to survive a nuclear strike but for basic protection and to keep it self contained these aren't bad.
Couldn't find a thread about this but maybe I missed it. How are you protecting your heavy equipment and trailers.
Anybody using GPS devices?
How about Lojack?
Other systems or mechanical devices for attachments?
I was just online and stumbled onto the fact that in Pa. any trailer over 3,000 GVRW is required to be inspected every year. I thought it was only trailers with brakes but apparently I have been wrong for years.
Probably more rock and wall use but just incase. Immediately remove from service if you have one and contact the manufacturer. Trango.com, "Product Alerts".
So my youngest daughter's boyfriend ask me about tree climbing, he would like to learn to try rec climbing. He is young, smart and in good health but......he is 6' 6" and @250 lbs. Not sure how to work with that. I got a; RR, ZZ, Akimbo, Split tails, Prusiks, lots of 8's with ears.
I know some...
I will get some pics up, I just haven't had time to take any and can't find the old ones. But if somebody local is looking or knows someone who needs a small chipper shredder I am getting rid of mine. Don't need it now that I have a 12" chipper. $500 bucks, pick up only. I bought used last year...
