    Accessory cord lock stitched/whipped into core?

    I've seen a few people form a loop made out of accessory cord, and somehow splice it into the core of a non-spliced end of rope. This little loop of accessory cord is only used to attach a retrieval ball onto, not for life support. Could this be done by simply pulling the core out of the end...
