Hey Evan; no Oio is the name of the street where we removed the norfolk pine in Aina Haina.
I know Mark D. only from the competitions, and I think I met Daniel when he came over for the comp one year. I rarely make it to the outer islands unfortunately.

Don't make fun of me . Here's a vid of a small pine we took out a week ago. We were out of there shortly after lunch. Seems I keep forgetting the camera on the really sketchy jobs

THere were some good photos of his setup in the thread I think was posted a link to.
We originally ordered the small plugs that come with the polycarb sheeting but found these cumbersome and not as solid as I wanted. Ended up using pop rivets which worked very well. Haven't had a single issue...
Not sure about the colors, I don't think so. Ordered mine from FarmTek.
Stumpy, it's much lighter. I could pickup a roll of 4X8 sheeting (I used 1/4" if I remember correctly) one person easily. I had eight pieces of the 4X8 sent all the way to hawaii for under 1K. All told, the box cost me...
Here's some photos of the one we built on an existing mason dump bed (2001 F550). I got the idea for the poly sides from flyingsquirrels thread in 2010. I've had the siding on the truck for over a year and it still looks brand new.

Actually I was really considering this trailer but found a dump trailer already on island the same week at an insane price so ended up buying that instead. I got a 14K dump for 3.5K which I think would have been the cost to send the trailer out to hawaii in the end.

Yep it's pretty much ridiculous. I'm supposed to compete in a week and I was just thinking I haven't climbed doubled rope in more than 6 months. Should be interesting...

I met Sal in 2009 at the western tree climbing comp... I remember clearly we hawaii guys went over in a group of 4 or 5 and we were feeling like we were getting our a$$es kicked by all the great climbers in this chapter and Sal walks right up to me and says "you Hawaii guys are the $hit!"
I...
I work with 10mm HTP daily for several months now and no problems with hand fatigue. I rarely if ever climb hand over hand up the rope though. Platinum looks promising.

They clearly laid out their reason for doing the experiment in the first 30sec of the video: "to promote ourselves" I take this as an entertainment vid and it actually was pretty entertaining!

I wouldn't want the gas engine I've heard they get pretty poor mileage. THe 6.7 are pretty new so nobody really knows how well they will do over the long haul. I have read however that there have been a few 200K mile 6.7 trucks with very minimal issues.
If I were in the market I would consider...
