We Lost Super Sal

I dream trees too brother.

Thanks for that link trev. Thanks for the links and article too, really tough to read the comments left by his clients and others.

I met Sal in 2009 at the western tree climbing comp... I remember clearly we hawaii guys went over in a group of 4 or 5 and we were feeling like we were getting our a$$es kicked by all the great climbers in this chapter and Sal walks right up to me and says "you Hawaii guys are the $hit!"

I wish I got to spend more time with him...

09 at Lake Castaic... That was my first comp, we had an amazing time. It was so much fun to be able to pitch a tent and camp at the lake. Ashlee and I were called over by Sal at dinner time, he made sure we had plenty of food and drink, there was no being shy around that man. He sure made both of us feel at home. Telling stories and having great times.

Of course the morning of the comp, I stumble out of my tent to the bathroom, and super sal is the only guy up, stretching on rope, and practicing his locks. That's Sal for ya.

I had no one to go with when it came time to footlocke, Sal volunteered to go against me, I felt good about that. It was no contest, he hit that bell and cheered me on to get to the top.

Every year since then, we would talk about Sal before the comp, I would look for him, just to get a hug, or knuckles, he made us always feel so comfortable.

I got to see him in Portland, all smiles, all the time. Loved that guy.

I too have good memories of Sal.

In Australia at the ITCC, Portland as well, laughs and good times.

Those memories are even more treasured now, tucked away in the section of my heart I reserve for those no longer with us, they still effect how I live, why I live and always will until my time comes to pass them on.

R.I.P Sal.

Tony

The lost of Super Sal is tragic. He was everybody's best friend. I know he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Sal was one of the greatest human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was true to the heart and soul. I miss you Sal now and forever. The world is a better place thanks to your contributions and tireless efforts....
