Thank you.
Our new guy moved up here from South of the twin cities to work here. Hopeful that he works out. He's sprat 1 trained and worked as a ground hand for some folks down there.
Cautiously optimistic
Hoping by spring the employee part is fixed. New guy started this week and other employee is transitioning into backup/maintenance. Hoping that things are on the up and up there.
We'll see. Kay sees the value in it if we have decent folks. And I've got a hand full of operators around who'd be...
This is hard to reply to on the phone, and every time I get to my computer work happens... Lol.
I'm trying to grow at the pace my market is dictating, which has been a faster pace than I anticipated this year for sure.
I'm looking for someone with individual drive. As it turns out, the kid...
Thanks bud. We're trying really hard. I want this to be a place folks are taken care of and want to work. Kay is pretty upset, she puts as much into this as I do. She bends over backwards for our people too, so it affects her just as much, if not more so because when I have to do 16 hour days...
Not really, most of my clients are well to do.
I hope it won't be. Hr hasn't been my strong suit. We actually hired a PEO to take over because I suck at it, but it hasn't been implemented yet.
This person needs to hold a rope idk. I mean I can do stuff alone. I'd make more money doing sales...
I'm actually working with our college to implement a pre apprenticeship as a stepping stone to an urban Forestry course.
The apprenticeship does that very thing, stable incremented raises with bonuses. Hell I'm paying 20+ an hour in fringe benefits too.
Just when we thought we were hitting a groove.
My new apprentice is leaving. I literally just bought a 19xpc, picking it up right now. I had no inkling that he would be quitting, just pulled the rug out from under me. Says the work is too strenuous, but just we just talked this week about how...
My apprentice is a bigger dude. I can't for the life of me find forestry boots (chainsaw boots) in a size 15.
Anyone with size 15 footsies have recs on good boots for the kid? I'll be buying them for him.
Thank you
I have a similar situation with my "woodworking shop". It's got everything but water, but would be easy to add water to it.
A modular would be stellar too. But again, who would be happy coming to a lonely office like that?
The remote thing is intriguing, as y'all and @Rusticus mentioned...
That's the kicker. Competency is hard to come by. We'd have to make sure our SOP and job design are on point. It is a route I haven't thought of though.
