best part of line clearance? Knockin' on doors

Re: best part of line clearance? Knockin\' on doors Ripley's Believe It or Not continues... in a part of town notable for it's vacant trailers, garbage strewn alleys, and omnipresent "tweaker" presence... we hit a 7 property streak: vacant property 1: a wandering youth scumbag dumped three...

best part of line clearance? Knockin' on doors

best part of line clearance? Knockin\' on doors I love knocking on doors to let folks know we're gonna be trimming their trees away from the wires. It's like terror roulette... today the Prince of Darkness answered the door while some kind of zombie hovered in the shadows. Lately I've been...

    I 'm still here.......

Re: I \'m still here....... Thanks Riggs, it needed to be said. When somebody does a big, complex removal, that's picture worthy. When somebody takes a down a 40' pine tree in the middle of a yard and uses the whole sherrill catalog in the process, that's silly.

    Looking for info re: Arizona

definitely work for someone else. I can transfer with my current company, but their only opening is in Kingman. My wife has gotten offers near Tucson. Either place is fine with me, I just want us to both have jobs lined up within an hour or so of each other.

    Looking for info re: Arizona

Hey R_&_T! I sent you a pm, too. I guess I am wanting to know: Is the job market flooded, or are there jobs to be had? What are wages like? In the PNW, Line trimmers make $25/hr, usually privates pay $15-25. From looking online, it appears cost of living is cheaper. In Portland, a...

Asplundh doing line clearance pruning with spikes

Re: look in the mirror let me break down it down like this... and then maybe Tom will be kind enough to lock the thread... the only reason a tree gets touched (hooks or no hooks) by a powerline trimmer is because: IT'S GROWING IN THE POWER COMPANY'S RIGHT-OF-WAY. They don't climb trees for...

Asplundh doing line clearance pruning with spikes

look in the mirror Funny that this thread got resurrected, and that I (of all people) would happen to check out treebuzz after months of inactivity... Today I was out visiting one of my crews (I switched from the big truck to the little truck 6 months ago or so), a 2 man bucket crew performing...

Looking for work in Central Oregon

Just curious if there's a position available in central/eastern Oregon. I've let some of my certifications lapse, but am/was CA, CTW, Tree Risk Assessor, USFS Hazard Tree ID, Class C Faller, Journeyman LCTT, etc. Have class B CDL, clean record, five years line clearance, five years...

asked if I wanted to get shot

rest assured, my comments were tongue in cheek. There are a lot of states where an individual can take classes and pass a background check to qualify for daily concealed carry of a firearm. I suppose I wwould rather have registered legal law abiding citizens with some training packing heat in...
