Gaffed out during a crane removal .

Those live oaks are HARD! Don't feel like the Lone Ranger Travor.

    Lowering 101

Never know, it might bring some of us up a notch or two:pirata:

Pine removal . Hello my name is Travor

Cool vid on a gnarly long leaf Travor! Never used a 'biner as a wedge, nice improv that looks like SOP for you. Checked out your YouTube channel, very nice. I'm a newbie at the Buzz but welcome and keep posting those vids.

    Modded Double Rope Bridge!

The Hitch Hiker's a great device. Once you get your cord dialed in and settle on a tending method for ascending it's pretty bomb proof and very compact.

    Large rigging ring

That's a big 'un. Looks like it could be a fine one size fits all lowering tool but I'm curious as to how cheap "cheap" is.

    Saw purchase help

The tensioning screw on the 395 is not the greatest design as far as I'm concerned but for stump work and falling and bucking big stuff I put up with it. The 562xp has become my go-to for just about everything my climbing saw won't eat.

    Saw purchase help

The 395 is auto oiling as well. It's a beast and only comes out on the biggest wood. Definitely not fun to climb with.

    Lowering 101

If his trajectory had been to the right a foot or two the cameraman wouldn't have been giggling. I always try to give my rope man a good once over to make sure they're not standing on the rope or worse before making the cut. Pretty negligent of the guy in the bucket to let that happen.

    Ribbon damage

At least it won't kill somebody's chain in the future like most of the stuff we find hiding inside trees. I carry bolt cutters, but the grinder would probably be better on most stuff as long as you've got a good battery.

    Dead Eye Sling

My guys use a timber hitch with but the RB like you tie it would certainly work well, especially if you're using double braid for your dead eye.

    DMM throw hook.

Thanks Tim! That's it Simple. I got some freebies off a couple of old tower lanyards. Just grind the rivet heads off, tap them out with a punch and the gate and lock fall off. Cut the tip off, grind off a point on the inside of the throat near the eye to make everything smooth and you're in...

    DMM throw hook.

Here's my hook made from the ladder snap. Works best with a quick link and a spliced eye in your rope.

    DMM throw hook.

Can't get the TreeStuff link to copy but the "Steel locking ladder snap" with the tip cut off and the gate and lock removed makes a very nice throwing hook. A half inch narrower throat than the Captain and quite a bit heavier but very strong and a LOT cheaper. I'll try and post a pic of mine...

Where's Nick Bonner when you need him?

    Bag o rope identification

Could be but I don't think Nerex is braided quite that tight. Definitely one of the two but TreeStuff doesn't sell Nerex by the foot either.

    Bag o rope identification

It's tenex (not tenex-tec). I got a bunch of 5/16 in a bag o rope too. I couldn't find that size tenex at TreeStuff's site, but Sherrill has it. I figure they are getting scraps from Sherrill too now that they have been bought out. The 5/16 is used for pole pruner cord. I made some loop runners...

    Choked Biner Rigging

Working for myself, tying knots for all rigging seems like an unnecessary time and energy killer. The fastest knot tier in the world just can't keep up on the small stuff. For light rigging I like a 50kN steel biner on an anchor hitch choked around the load or attached to choked slings. Throw in...
