Eye to eye as knee ascender

Muggs, that was a lil beyond me lol. I don't mean to discredit creators of knee ascenders or rope walking systems that have been meticulously engineered over the years. I also don't want to do something that is unsafe. Let me know if you see an obvious flaw with using a system such as this.

Eye to eye as knee ascender

Are you referring to the xsre biner? I have the option to clip to the lower swivel with a full size biner. Maybe I'll try that, no need to leave the bottom swivel open since I won't be using it for anything else while rope walking. Not a big deal to use a small one though, rated to like 4kn...

Eye to eye as knee ascender

Yeah essentially, really fits my climbing style. You might need to play with the shock cord or bridge length to dial it in (adjustable bridge helps..) Did the link work? I'll just say this was not my original idea, it's my take on a system I saw on YouTube a few weeks ago. Forget his name, I'll...

Eye to eye as knee ascender

What's up guys, I love my Saka but am loving using a 24" eye to eye and a shock cord neck tether as my knee ascender. It's super light and compact, quick to deploy, works super good enough, multifunctional, and I'm not wearing a chest harness bra lol. Thought I would share. Here's a Google link...

    Rope Flattening Issues

Thanks AJ, yeah I only have one sewn eye on the rope so I guess it should be good. I like to melt the sheath and round it off over the core so maybe that is preventing it from getting milked all the way? Idk, either way it seems to be working fine after running a munter a few times and adding a...

Keep hearing about the importance of milking, I'll make a point to do it periodically. Thx

    Rope Flattening Issues

I ended up running my rope through a munter hitch 2 times. Then I placed it in the rope bag with a little climbing chalk and shook it. Seems to have brought it back to life for now, 8mm eye to eye hitch grabs great. i even ran it back and forth between mechanical and hitch srt system. Surely not...

    Rope Flattening Issues

Thanks for the tips, that scandere looks real nice. Blue moon works pretty great on srt for me, it is flattening to the point where I'm almost maxing out adjustments though so I may have to dedicate a rope like scandere to it. Would be nice if it worked well with an MRS as well though, I like to...

    Rope Flattening Issues

What's up guys, is there a rope that you'd recommend that is minimally impacted by flattening from mechanical devices to allow use with friction hitch/wrench in MRS as well? I have Yale 11.7 Blue Moon which I love but it flattens quite a bit with my akimbo which surprisingly fits my climbing...

    Predict the pull

I'm not going to dabble with the math but my guess is rope stretch and short throw of the 5:1 on subsequent 5:1's will be a notable problem with achieving calculated forces. Reminds me of this episode

    Home birthing hippies

We had a midwife for the first baby boy but had to transfer last minute do to heart concern that ended up being nothing. My wife stormed out of the hospital when they asked her to sign off that she couldn't leave lol. Eventually got back and had a hospital birth, procedural b.s. was annoying but...

    Climbers for Christ

Did anyone say "see! Jesus is no good"? Maybe I missed it. Agreed, many fake Christians out there. The history shows that the bible and teachings have been interpreted in ways to benefit the Church for any given time frame/culture. Gotta keep those followers, or sheep as in your analogy. Bad...

    Climbers for Christ

We just outsource our slavery now. Out of sight, out of mind.. Christianity was huge on slavery, I think the key to most advancements (among others) was education and perhaps farming practices. Yes lots of Christian educational facilities, many built on the backs of slavery.

    Climbers for Christ

Totally agree it's not unique to the church. Just curious though, what was the corrupt history of this building? Or just referring to taxation? I thought the Catholic church used to have great influence and/or control of public institutions in Quebec back then.

    Climbers for Christ

Agreed, that is some impressive and beautiful architecture. I like the this Notre Dame church in Rouen. Always found the history fascinating and kinda hilarious. Big chunk of the funding for churches in this time came from indulgence taxes where the rich would pay money to be allowed or forgiven...

    ISC UltraLink recall update

I hope the new one is more cumbersome lol. I'd really like to see what the changes are before committing to an exchange.

“Unusual Birds” & Trees in your area ?

All sorts of birds out here, kids are great chicken tenders too lol. In trees we encounter lots of parrots, egrets, crows, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, hawks, Osprey, finch, sparrows, orioles, and lots of robins this year. Birds are a big deal out here.. my friend was a big part of writing the...
