Please help. I don’t recognize this one

Not from the area but looks a fair bit like Fraxinus spp. (Ash). Swollen base may be response to basal decays, possibly associated with the decline.

    Compact Bulldog Bone

Are there any photos of what you guys are describing? Not finding in the search, trying to visualize it.

    TM pro Velcro

Gotcha, that would definitely help a bit. Seems like the newly introduced play (although minor) would be enough to jiggle that loose pretty quick but idk. I worked as a car and bike mechanic for 8 years, that's just me trying to visualize the forces at play. I really just don't like that design...

I don't have the newer Sequoia but I don't really see what you're talking about. If the bolt broke at the threads it looks like it's just a slick stainless cylinder that could slip out under a few loading cycles. From there it doesn't look like the paw would need to break, even Petzl gives it...

He was just bumping the post. I believe there was one other similar case as well. I personally think it was over torqued. Not too familiar with the exact layout of the locking mechanism but the complexity and multiple cases don't give me the warm fuzzys. I wonder if Petzl will address it in any way.

Yeah that's pretty much the method I use. I do really enjoy the saddle though, customization options are awesome. I would probably prefer a new Sequoia if the pins holding the bridge together weren't breaking on people..

In and out of the bag is one of the main nuisances. I feel like it takes up twice the space because I don't want to cram it in any weird way that it will unvelcro itself apart lol.

Yeah, I got mine lightly used but Velcro function has been pretty poor. Something I'd rather not have to worry about. I really like the saddle but not quite as comfy as the Sequoia it's replacing either. Interested if there's any resolutions.

Rope Wrench Tether on Sewn Eye?

Update, ran surprisingly smooth in srs/Mrs. Would be nice if the stitched eye loops were just a wee bit larger though. You have to attach everything in a specific order for relative ease. I was particularly pleased with the xsre to tend slack, easy, light, compact solution.

Rope Wrench Tether on Sewn Eye?

Xsre seems to tend slack pretty good. Here's a pic in mrs and srs.

Rope Wrench Tether on Sewn Eye?

That's true, thanks Brocky I might revisit this. Just don't have any bulk hitch cord at the moment.

Rope Wrench Tether on Sewn Eye?

Thanks Moss, really not that hard to get the carabiners in the eye but can't get it through both eyes with a snap in there. This would just be an easy/light/compact/versatile secondary system in a pinch. I like the midline attachability of the snaps, I ran a shizll on lanyard for a bit but just...

Rope Wrench Tether on Sewn Eye?

What's up guys, just curious on your thoughts. I like exploring creative options and was playing with this minimalist configuration to have in the back pocket. Basically just clipping the wrench tether directly to a sewn eye loop to quickly switch to SRS without hitch climber. Slightly...

    Trucker's / Wagoner's Hitch, Old School Method

Yeah, love the English trucker's hitch. The main reason I often use this girth trucker's variation is because I'm frequently tying things down with webbing and the English trucker's hitch won't hold consistently with webbing.

    Trucker's / Wagoner's Hitch, Old School Method

If I'm not using Patrick's variation, I often do something very similar to Rico except I do girth instead of clove and pop it through both loops instead of adding wood. Typically can pop it loose pretty easily. If tying cargo down I'll often do beast horn style bites to avoid feeding a bunch of...
