    I think maybe because all the stress is being put on the actual splice when using it as a pocket might have something to do with it

    This is the 1/2” stuff, I guess it could still see some significant load on that pocket. I totally brain farted and thought through one, through the other, I’m good!

    Ya, I left Rochester today, it was 50 and the first sun we have seen in a week, down to Georgia which was 50 and rain haha. Supposed to clear up in the next days. It scares me to think the ground will not freeze this winter if it continues with the warmer temperatures. Makes work a mud fest...

    A few from the past week or so My bud took some really good pictures of a job out a family friends cabin. Split and crispy dead ash. Tied into the poplar behind, couple wimpy ratchet straps for piece of mind and bombs away.

    If you really wanted, you could do something similar to what @treebing Bingham did with his rope runner pro in a moving rope setup. It would get the knot up a ways from the prusik. He posted some pictures in an earlier thread… But who am I :)

    I already had one quickie and the dog bone from a rock climbing quick draw… Which is what the guy in the video is using minus one quickie/ sub screw link. Also works as a cinch anchor on a spar.
