I might just pull mine apart. Probably lose one pocket by fixing the mistake. I used in total 18’ for this configuration which in its current state is about seven foot end to end
This is the 1/2” stuff, I guess it could still see some significant load on that pocket.

My bud took some really good pictures of a job out a family friends cabin. Split and crispy dead ash. Tied into the poplar behind, couple wimpy ratchet straps for piece of mind and bombs away.
If you really wanted, you could do something similar to what @treebing Bingham did with his rope runner pro in a moving rope setup. It would get the knot up a ways from the prusik. He posted some pictures in an earlier thread…
