Exactly this.
There are only a handful of climbers that abide by the certified system rules and they are the ones who climb on either the lock jack, spider jack, zigzag (on en1891 a ropes) or the ce climb.
everyone else in germany climbing on a knot i not abiding by the "Rules".
All the bits...
Yes, although I don't see how a rope wrench could be put in amongst the others as its not a stand alone device. This just came around a couple of days ago and I'm unsure as to what actually is going on but will find out in the next little while. Nothing has changed for the use of these items...
Bachelors of science .... beats still own the rhythm @jmaher appreciate the kind words homie.
Its a pleasure to work in trees like that , kinda re ignites the passion.
I've had mine a year and a half the back soft upper has a hole in it ...... thats it though.
I bought another pair because they are great boots , sorry to hear about the shitty customer service though .
a hook went on my first pair after about 3/4 of a year but i think thats standard with...
So it's been a while guys but I thought I'd share This .
The new go pros first outing and it performed really well... still getting used to the voice commands but over all the first impression is very slick.
No real action but some really nice quality footage (turn on hd) ... hope you enjoy
Thank you sir :).
The reason I use that setup is that it can be used in a multitude of configurations .... second system, static srt redirect, ddrt redirects(non retrievable and also retrievable) and the progress capture for traversing. That along with an 8 and the hook are the permanent...
Hey Paul @swingdude I think you misread, Its very easily thrown and set 5 meters plus. To me it sounds perfect for your situation , did u try using it with the tail of your line or use that kit?
I know how to move around a tree without my hook..... not a problem .... but... with the work we...
Ball quivering traverses..... sounds like fun.
I'd love to make it over sometime in the future mate, If a plan comes to fruition No doubt i'll be in touch :)
Perhaps ben may be interested in another little adventure in the near future, we will see.
Haha, looks like you beat me too it paul :tanguero: I never use the hook for unaided vertical ascent but I do however use it sometimes like say how a tower climber uses a hook.
normally its when moving up a few meters (after traversing into another tree ) to my next main anchor and its used...
I really like the epple, its much lighter and has a slightly larger opening than the captain, the extra weight of the captan would come in handy if you were to throw further but i don't believe that you should be doing mega traverses over 5 meters anyway...... in saying that my experience with...
People under utilise the hook by using it with a seperate line imo. I've always used the tail of my line, so its been able to be a permeant fixture on my harness for the last three or four years, it gets used a lot more for other jobs in the tree than it does for traversing.. @123Craig I...
hey guys , interesting topics that have been brought up
I think its more being safe incase of a potential "letting go of the rope " than not being able to hold ones weight. With traversing there is a lot of adjusting of angles along the way and it really is upto the climbers to inform...
