    Pole saw blade replacement

Had to chop some of the handle tang off and drill a little hole to put a straight, medium tooth (which is only 1-2 TPI less than the large tooth), impulse hardened, 400mm Silky Tsurugi blade on my Jameson pole saw head. It cuts crazy fast, and that 400mm blade allows for long strokes. Never saw...

    ISO Chainsaw scabbards

There’s all kinds of cool projects you can do with firehose. If you can sew through it, you can do wallets or heavy duty pouches to hold files or saw chain, knife sheaths, little pouches for med kits, or belt pouches. Lots of stuff, get imaginative.

    ARB'O Saddle

Good to know. Is the hardware French made too? Petzl maybe? I don’t know of any other French manufacturers besides Petzl and FTC, but I reckon there’s more, with all those mountains.

    ARB'O Saddle

Looks nice enough. I’d want to know who made the textiles and the hardware, and in what country the hard and soft materials were manufactured. The price is nice for a saddle with all the modern amenities, but if it’s made with Chinese rings, plates, and buckles, I wouldn’t take one for free.

    Samson hyperstatic 11.7

I totally stand corrected, I’d never heard of that rope before, and thought you meant HyperClimb.

    Samson hyperstatic 11.7

If you mean Samson HyperClimb, I think it’s a 24 strand double braid, not a kernmantle. It’s a wonderful climbing line for SRT or MRS. Good luck with your sale or trade. A pic is always welcome when trying to sell something. Is it the hot or cool colors (orange or blue/purple)?

Samson double-braid dry ropes for tree climbers

Can probably get a couple pounds out of one of those sealing rings they use for installing a new toilet. Some of those are pure beeswax.

    Today....

What a beautiful baby! I’m so happy for you guys, congrats! In my opinion, there’s nothing in life that’s as fascinating as watching a child grow and develop their own personalities. Was trying to clear the driveway yesterday. Guess it’s time to bundle up and work on that some more.

    New HitchHikerXF

You sure those are Petzl Oxan carabiners? Looks like the one that came with my HH2, which I think was a steel CT Pillar.

    Documenting my hand-sewn eye process

I’ve only ordered from them twice, but both times I was very pleased with MapleLeafRopes. Cool seeing them have a presence on this forum too, can ask questions and get answers easy peasy. Just out of curiosity, @Ragnar are you sure that the high priced cordage wasn’t showing you the cost in...

looking for my first truck and trailer.

Welcome to TreeBuzz! You probably won’t regret getting a used dump truck, and as long as you don’t trash it, they hold their value pretty well if you decide to sell it later. Even if you gotta save for a while longer, it’d be worth skipping the flat trailer and spending on a dump trailer...

New father to a Captain Hook looking for setup advice

The Petzl Grillon is like a springless GriGri, and the handle is a bit different. More like a knob on the Grillon instead of the handle. Also there’s a screw that keeps it closed. These springless devices are all very similar I think. I never used a Grillon, but I do have the SafeGuard, Cinch...

    Food Thread

We’re big fans of having breakfast foods for dinner. Tonight we did bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, and the biggest omelettes I’ve ever made. My omelette had bacon, sausage, ham, mushroom, cheddar, American cheese, provolone, and mozzarella. We ran out of Swiss, or I would’ve done that too. They...
