Pix of your crane tie in method

My crane op. said he heard that tying to the load line in anyway is no longer acceptable. I have always used a safety shackle on the load line above the ball he apparently was told that we need to have something that hangs on the top of the ball below the pin and not on the load line. Has anyone...

    thank you stein

David, if you truly think it was the quality or design of the crane bag that cause the failure. I would email or call stein they will probably make good on it. If not I'm sure they'd be very happy to hear your feedback so they can improve their design in the future. I also bet that the other...

    Stein/Stihl/Oregon chainsaw trousers

I also picked up a pair of the pfanners from stein at tci last november. it was my first pair of gladiators so I didn't have anything to compare to but I noticed right away that there were a little things about the craftsmanship that was lacking, even the islets for the suspenders and belt loops...

    SRT Alpine style

again you only need double the rope to choke a midline alpine just tie the alpine once you're throw line pulls the end of the climbing line just over your TIP then pull the throw line through the midline knot to send up the choke you will then end up with both ends of line at the ground

    s r t multiple redirect flex

Re: SRT multiple redirect flex Swing... I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt the pull and hated it. I can see advantages to working SRT. But I'm also loving the Spiderjack and Pullysaver.

    s r t multiple redirect flex

Re: SRT multiple redirect flex thanks tom, all good points. I didn't feel any apprehension about the leads them selves as I would have tied into any 1 of them even higher on Ddrt. I thought of all installing a FS with a stopper behind it but I wanted to try the multiple redirects. The leads...

    s r t multiple redirect flex

For a while now I have been utilizing the RIG for certain jobs where it seems the most efficient. Usually when I couldn't isolate my line or I was able to just set a static line directly over my work. But after reading the Buzz lately I decided to use srt to work a tree that I had to move...

    Spider jack 2

I got mine in august and put it on some pretty clean (no sap, no natural crotch) blue moon (same as PI) that I had been using for ddrt. I started to get slippage after a only a few months. Although I was getting use to it and I also was getting used to a PULLYSAVER at the same time so I'm sure...

    Suddenly SRT basal anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Suddenly SRT basil anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! I have recently switched to a Gri Gri at the base and started utilizing the RIG to work the tree after ascent. I can understand the thinking behind redundant backups on the basal anchor system if you are going to work secret weapon or srt on...

    Suddenly SRT basal anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Suddenly SRT basil anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! I started using a lowerable basal tie system mainly for the purpose of rescue during ascent on mechanical asender's where I would not be able to quickly descend. For this purpose the system would have to be quick to put to use and you would...

Alternative methods to working a spar

Ethan the best safety feature I've learned for working a spar is simply to add a small prussic on to your lanyard clip in a biner and choke your lanyard to the stem. that way if you do gaff out or get a big shake you won't go anywhere. it also prevents you from getting sucked in if a piece peels...
