    Spiderlifts Comparisons

We can lift the basket even when the outriggers are up, very practical when you need to get up onto something. Only downside is you lengrhen the machine, making it less stable.

    JPCarlton Chippers

I'm looking at a used 2015 Carlton, to be more specific. I've used Bandit almost exclusively in the last years and love their chippers, but this seems like a decent deal I just might take my chances on. Anyone have any terrible experiences with carlton?

Ya I saw those, a little high on the hours meter, looking for something a little newer. I might also be in the market for a bucket at some point and was going to write to you when I was ready.

You can also easily find a used 252 for under 10k, could be worth it instead of renting. They arte easy to work on and parts are everywhere.

You'll have a better visual on the stump with a 252, but better and faster maneuvrability with the 30tx. Grinding from behind sucks and takes some getting used to, but is do-able. I try not to get influenced too much by salemans, especially if they don't have any experience in our industry. I...

Not sure where you were quoted 68k for a mini, but I suggest you run!

    Vermeer SC30TX

38 hp on the 38 special attachment, seems it would perform closely with a 30tx: Seems that it's expensive for a machine that is built just like a mini but without the ability to change out your attachemnt. We've been running only a mini grinder attachment for the last three years (30hp) and...

I still donr understand why you wouldnt buy a mini with a stump grinder attachment instead, seems it would be way more versatile for the money.

    Spiderlifts Comparisons

This machine has no computers so I'm confident we won't have any issues on that end. With these lifts you're definetly trading access abilities for boom speed, no doubt. I saw a bucket running the other day at our comp and had forgotten how fast they are. All in all, they are different tools...

59 vertical, 30 horizontal. I think you're correct about the hydraulics.

Short video we did with the guys from UpEquip who distribute Easy-Lift in North America. We took down seven dead EAB infested ash trees in a pretty tight spot. They weren't super huge trees, but using the lift made it just that much easier.

    Progressive Urban Tree Management

That's awesome! We do work in similar woodlot for the city here, on a much smaller and less thorough scale. We have installed the idea of leaving "tomem" trees and also leaving branches on site, when practical.
