With the mini your getting pretty heavy for a 6 wheeler, and your over Cdl if you want to put more than a Christmas tree in the back. Not gonna be alot of leftover gvw for logs or chips.
I just got the Terex tire version, only ground 1 stump so far and was surprised with the torque from the kohler, rugged little unit for the money thats for sure
Peltor power com's . Rugged, reliable, use 2 aa batteries. We use rechargeables and get 2 days to a charge. Vox activated so the crane op only hears the important stuff and vice versa. As a crane opp I cant stand listening to a climber huff and puff climbing threw a canopy like you get with...
Anyone here get to try one of the New Terex stump grinders? Saw them at tcia and they looked well put together, and the wheel model has great wheel visability and a shield. I like the tsg538
I just got a ts33 and put a prentice pulp grapple on it, I was able to rig it for 360 degree rotation, having 33' of reach is awesome especially being able to pick logs infront of the truck,, it will lift 5k all day long but it is just plain slow, smooth and precise,, but slow

Our Vermeer 600 has been a great investment:
- BMG drags brush and lift logs
- stump grinder attachment avoids trips with another machine
- bucket can haul rakings, stump grindings or snow
- forks load or unload stuff
- auger is great for planting
Here is a pic of the machine in the...
I like the look of the mini articulating loaders but I feel I would just get a Kubota 420 or 520 before going that rout. I have run a r520 loading 12' 32'' pine logs and the lifting capacity is awesome. not bad on turf and I bet a set of turf tires would make it better, but they weigh triple...
Ok I am getting ready to decide if a mini will fit into my operation. I would love to see some pics of your minis lifting logs and loading trailers. either with forks or a branch manager.. show em off
We keep Dawn dish soap in the trucks to scrub up with a few times a day when your in the ivy, cool water dawn, and it works good for rinsing off the saws, chipper levers and stuff. ivy oil is the gift that keeps on giving for a year or so so if you get it on something like a rope you will get it...

Lifting trusses by hand is awkward. That is a crane job. Trees often can be loaded straight from above with a gravity assist. Yet people would still break out the crane because they can and charge extra for the show. That's basically irresponsible. More property damage, traffic issues...
there is no comparison in a 70' bucket and a 70' crane. that crane has enough chart to take a 40' piece of a 100' pine as long as the butt is heavy enough so it don't roll. depending on your work area a more maneuverable crane just may be the key. where huge rigs just cant access. I agree 70' is...
I have the same 28' 70' boom on a older grove td522 and while it is very useable, we have to put the 23' jib on most jobs giving about 100' including truck height. I cant wait for 120'+ of full hydro. there are some respectable boom trucks out there with more reach for not much more dough.than...
The least anyone who is driving heavy truck, running a crane, and probably flying climbers, can do is get a dot physical. any one who does not is probably afraid of not passing.
municipality's are usually so worried about liability I am surprised the wont spring spring for a repair! I never had good luck repolishing polycarb, plexiglass, or lexan
