Very cool. I did not do a good job following up to @UncleDon. He nailed it on the tree ID. Very impressive trees there. Can you imagine them planing them way back when?
I upgraded the controls to the new version offered by vermeer. Fixed the problem. Not a bypass. All operational functions and safety controls work as normal.
Class is sold out. Venue only held 70 comfortably. Thanks for everyone’s interest. Hopefully some other people from the buzz are attending. If so, come seek me out and say hi.

Craig,
I know several people from KC and Minneapolis are going, but I don't know if they are on the buzz or not. I haven't heard of any particular spot for lodging. I will be organizing an after party for the event where all the tree people can come hang out and socialize. That will be near...

2nd that. if you don't have a mini loader yet, thats the first thing to buy. Ours is handy but only goes out on big projects. I don't like my guys driving the gehl because of the tipping potential is so much higher. I'll send them out all day with a mini though.
Thanks for posting this question. I've just bought a 22 ton crane and need to mill some cribbing also. I have a lucas mill so I can mill 8x8 cants. I have spruce, pine, oak, maple, elm in my log pile I can choose from.
The wacker has controls already in place to be able to control a rotator. If you want a rotator type grapple on the Gehl it will be much more difficult.
I have a AL540 with the BMG grapple and am pleased with it. I have the single post ROPS but would consider the 4 post as well. I would not...
Carl,
Its good to see youre still buzzin even if you dont do trees anymore. I defer to Carl on this one. Hes a smart fella and if he says it can be done safely it probably can.
