I agree with Royce. Need to try and find out about the use of the truck. It could be a ex municipality truck that idled for 3000hrs out of the 5600. Also make sure the hour gauge is accurate and hasn't been changed.
Depends on what the boom was used for and how often the material handler is being used. As much as the boom is designed for carrying weight it is still an additional stress factor oppose to a non material handling bucket. 5600 isn't crazy especially for the age of he boom. The proof would be on...
I recently purchased a bandit 1890 with the oversized feed wheels. 140 hp cat engine. It chips better then my 280xp with a 5.9 Cummins. After having the oversized wheels I could never see buying a chipper with out them.
Just type in mesh pool fence in google and you will find it. I picked up like 8 rolls from a customer who was throwing them out. They work really well.

84 bucks. Cheaper...
Hopefully the truck was sitting on a big contract for 3 years. To only put 3500 miles would mean the truck was a poor buy. Maybe could suit someone else's market better.
Or grab one from their auction with a good boom and a blown tranny or engine or a gas engine. And swap it to a new chassis. You have that beautiful crane now to do the swap.

If your worry is buying that elevator from tri state because it is most likely is a auction truck with new paint that is marked up 30gs. Why don't you just cut out the middle man. And go straight to the source which would be a jj Kane auction and such. Elevators go from 45 to 75gs depending on...
I've been going to Jjkane auctions for years before they had it online. Now all you see is schmidys and tristate freaking blowing the prices out of the water. And then 3 months later selling the same truck for double the price.
Yea I know the weights of the machines thank you tho. My driver has a cdl a anyway. I always keep a weight receipt in the truck just in case the dot wants to be a dick.
