    Old chainsaw poster

Forty years ago at our forestry school we had a poster on the wall. On this poster was a chainsaw with a cut out. In this cut out you could see a gnome on a bike propelling the chainsaw chain. Next to the gnome was a pot with porridge. On the throttle handle was a stick that poked the gnome in...

Using Echo DCS 2500T in light rain?

I live in The Netherlands, the country where it rains a lot. So my old 2500 has seen a lot of rain. No problems here. Can't say the same for my old Husqy battery saws.

    Echo top handle saw

In the Netherlands we are able to buy a complete set. I put the link below through Google Translate, I hope this will work. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=nl&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.echodependonit.com%2Fnl%2Fkettingzagen%2Fd%2Fcs-2511tesc-nc%2F137&edit-text=

    Makita xcu06 top handle 18V

I've got one in Dolmar orange. During the summer (+35 degrees celcius) it let me down a couple of times because it got too hot to function. Otherwise it's a very nice easy to handle nimble saw. Don't expect Stihl 161 or Husqvarna 536 takedown power, but it functions quite well as a pruning saw...

    Smaller top handle recommendation needed

 I really like my Echo 2511. At this moment it is fitted with their new narrow kerf carving bar.

I am removing the SAKA from the market.

Thanks yoyoman for the wonderful product. I am glad I was able to buy your SAKA here in The Netherlands. I love mine and hope I can enjoy the ease it brings to my climbing for many more years to come. Good luck and don't let the negative people get to you. Wolter

    Harrison Rockets

Thanks bro. That's what I thought too. I keep them on stock so I will replace them first thing tomorrow. The new ones will 'sit' in the shed as spare. I'll replace them more often. I'm kinda in love with the Rockets so replacing them with something else is not an option. [emoji106] Wolter

    Harrison Rockets

I have a question about our most loved tool in the box. After years of use two of my Rockets have puffed out. Luckily still not spilling their guts. When ending up in a puddle they ooze out white milk. I just ordered a couple new ones at SafetyGreen here in the Netherlands. My question is...

Tiny bars on big powerheads. Why?

That's my version of one sandwich short of a picknick. [emoji6] Wolter

Tiny bars on big powerheads. Why?

Nah, they're just half a bar short of a real saw. [emoji38] O I know, I know. I don't have to bend over while cutting the trunk into pieces. Wolter

Tiny bars on big powerheads. Why?

I'm with you chiselbit. On all my machines are the maximum advised bars. When up in the tree I like my saws featherlight. A few seconds longer in the cut doesn't bother me. Unnecessary rounding a tree just because the bar is too short really bugs me. I really don't think there is a measurable...

Sorry, I don't know what part number the new 2511 primer bulb has. I got mine the second week of September 2017. Wolter

This is what I did with my copy of 'The Fundamentals'...

Thanks Patrick, a great effort worth supporting. I just ordered and received your digital signed version. If you ever see Gerald in the flesh, please thank this man on behalf of me and everyone working in this industry. :numberone:

    Echo top handle saw

Yes it does. When you buy one, do yourself a favour. Take the ring off and modify it as shown in the pictures. Put it back on upside down and you'll have a ring that stays 'open' while attaching to your harness. Wolter

    Echo top handle saw

That's me indeed. Editing was not my thing. This was my 2510. Due to muffler overheating it got a recall. Ending up with a brand new 2511. Wolter

    Echo top handle saw

Not in my case. I got my primer bulb directly from the Belgian/Dutch Echo import company. Wolter
