Got an Akimbo and decided it's not for me. Lightly used.

I'll even put some goodies like treestuff used to, everyone loves surprises.
For a thread that started about hand pains and difficulty gripping we have not mentioned rope strand counts this whole time, or how some ropes are when loaded after climbing.
The higher the strand count, the more slick the rope can be to grip. I think this is less of a problem with KMI 1/2"...
So as little as I find this useful in my head and within my style of work, I've seen people who this would be awesome for. It definitely solves a problem that some people have with their way of climbing, not saying that a long lanyard is a problem per say.
I personally can not stand extra loops...
Couple things here really sticking out here to me man. Did you say you stuffed your safebloc into a harbor freight webbing sling you had for something else? I wouldn't trust that to last very long from the sounds of it, imagine how things play out if that works itself out?
I really don't think...
Dude have you broken or been really close to breaking something or worse off SOMEONE before doing tree work? Creating slings based on little work experience and then building them with "strong anchor ropes", and then further rolling the dice by putting weight into them pressumably with a ground...
Don't reinventing the slings by adding hardware like carabineers for choking stuff. Use what has been tested by people who have been doing this for longer then you. Then once your tried several sling concepts, learned what makes them great or not for you, you can start being creative because...
The rope being sandwiched between the ring and stem!!
THIS is why I think 3 rings are superior then two or one. Three won't stack up in a way that pinched the rope, whxih will happen WAY easier with 1-2. I've observed this for a while now, trying out working with 1 - 2 ring termination points
Whoever used the shackles, Daniel Murphy or Riggs, they welded two together too if I remember right.
The key with those thimbles is make sure you don't have running rope on the rope from the sling tucked in the thimble. The other thing is like mentioned making sure it's not cutting the sling...
