    Ditch witch sk3000

Get the new Giant 2700 Tele! Lifts over 6.7k, but weight 5.9k, and has and has a 147” hinge pin height. Our kilter 254 Tele has been amazing, but lifts about 2500 with the tires foam filled and the counterweight kit.

    Recession?

I just bought a brand new F350 6.7 XL Off-Road $5,000 under MSRP, with a two-year Ford protect maintenance plan. What’s crazy, is the super duty was built in December, so it only stayed on the lot for about a month and a half. Apparently truck sales are at it all time low, and this is the time...

    Recession?

For me, it was people looking up the Arborist directory online, and seeing I am one the the few in the area. Normally you become the first call, assuming they are wanting a CA. I am right with you! Almost no one asks if I am an arborist ever. But For me, it was people looking up the Arborist...

    Recession?

Honestly, we had a huge wind storm, but the main thing was going from a 16” dump trailer, to a 165hp 15XP. We now can chip 5-6 slashed dump trailers of brush into our 22 yard chip truck. Becoming a BCMA last July really gave us an uptick in calls as well.

    Recession?

My December was about 30% slower, but overall we did 50-60% more in sales this year.

    Recession?

We are booked 3 weeks out, and calls are still trickling in. Pretty busy for us, but I currently run a 2-3 person crew. Debating putting in an order for a 19XPC this spring, and our 15XP is driving me nuts on high production days. I have spent most my years around 280HD, 1990XP, etc. We are...

    It's the economy dummy!

I think it’s the fact we have not had a hard definite 2008 style recession yet, so everyone assumes it’s lurking months down the road. On top of that, the multiple wars have been concerning some as well.

Kretzschmaria duesta / brittle cinder fungus treatment with Trichoderma???

100% We reduced this pecan by 10-15%, and the next year, a patch of Kretz showed up. When I conversed with Chris Luley about this, he said crown reductions (storm damage or pruning) triggering Kretz is a real phenomenon. The water pressure in the tree possibly suppresses it. When you remove...

Kretzschmaria duesta / brittle cinder fungus treatment with Trichoderma???

We have been inoculating a clients soil 4 times a year with Tricho. They lost a prized pecan from Kretz, and we are trying to protect the other one. Possibly pseudoscience, but they asked for us to do anything possible. My company also has no real way to measure effectiveness. Dried/powder...

    Nectria Canker

Our water and willow oaks get hammered in Tulsa. Huge target cankers decades in the making. I did a tree a month ago that pretty much had rock climbing holds all the way up. It is a disease that can be spread by pruning tools.

    Used chipper shopping

My 15XP 6.2 Ford with winch and steel fenders was $78.3k this July. Bandits build sheet options have all gone up. Now looking at a 19XPC with the ford 6.2 and the price went from 98k—105k since July.

    Getting commercial work.

Most definitely, many different forms of accidents/injury’s at multiple companies. I have seen a metal gravel rake go through a BC1000 and spit the head into the chip truck. I am just saying I personally feel much safer working with a chipper. I know that does not sounds like it makes sense...

    Getting commercial work.

Almost everyone in Tulsa is switching to a grapple, and our dump takes brush for a low price. I may buy a grapple in the future, but most new are in the 300k range. Only down fall to the grapple is the hazard, operation/maintenance costs and Class A CDL (which I have). 14 years in, and have...
