I believe it. I think it’s a little heavier than the Rook/ Hydra that I’m using, and that pulley gave me an uncomfortable bonk down there before I switched to a little longer bridge.
I think that description can accurately be applied to anything that CMI makes.
Groundie? Me?
Ole Dennis is welcome to drag my brush :)
In all seriousness, I worked for Dennis in 03 and 04. He’s a good boss, keeps his guys busy year round, and pays what is owed, and on time like it’s his religion. I don’t got the time to give him though. This last contract negotiation was...
Minor thing that I don’t even mention to people, but when I shut off a saw, I always flip the switch back to the run position, so when I need it again, just pull the cord. I was taught to do this by my trainer, I guess the majority of folks don’t do this. Kinda irksome to pull the cord a couple...
I stand corrected, used my 192TC yesterday, pulled the cord slowly and felt it wind, release and start. Weird how I’ve been yanking the cord like every other saw for the past few years.
Seems really unnecessary for such a tiny little saw that is usually very easy to start.
I’m not understanding what the difference is. I got a 192TC that I like, never noticed anything weird with the recoil, seems to function like my other top handle recoils.
Also holler when you’re in Buffalo or the Falls again man, we can get a beef on weck and rec climb something or get a drink...
Oh I got another.
Do any climbers actually like it when your rope guy starts taking up slack before the piece is tied? There’s an awful lot of groundies that do this, I reckon somewhere there’s climbers training these guys to do this? I get it, you’re trying to be high speed and ready to go...
Kind of task specific situation here. When I’m climbing and we rig a piece down, very often we’ll be rigging another piece right after. So when that first piece gets landed, I hate when the ground folks do anything other than immediately untie it and flick the rope back to me, if needed. I want...
I got my old Army issued polypropylene long underwear and the more recently issued silk weight long underwear. Neither of them are super warm, but that’s kind of nice once I start working hard and gotta shed some outer layers. The silk weight stuff is like UnderArmour, it’s moisture wicking...
Rook/ Hydra pulley on mine, but pretty much same experience. First time shifting my weight to work on the left or right side was a bit too easy and too fast, a little spooky, but I’m quite used to it now, and really like it.
If anyone is interested, the CMI California swivel is on clearance on...
Waiting to gtfo of this dirty old plant, get a shower and get into some clean comfy clothes. Maybe a little whiskey and pizza. Probably walk the dogs with the girlfriend, then relax. Maybe smoke a bowl and watch Spongebob or play a video game. Maybe just turn in early. 530 am comes too soon.
A cargo van with a good security system would be cool. I’d park it in a relatively secure garage, and wouldn’t have to bother with loading and unloading tools. Probably gain an extra 20 minutes of sleep :)
If there’s a roof rack, some 8” PVC pipe mounted on the roof and with threaded caps or...
