    Rings can take a beating and have low friction for sure. I see no scenario where efficiency wise they would be superior to a pulley in a snatch block situation other then protection from possible struck by damage.

    I haven't had any issues. I feel like I'm one of the rare people that actually take care of my boots though. Id say every other month I give them a good coating of Obenauf's leather oil and I always coat the toes with Tuff Toe right out of the box. Seems to help longevity greatly.

    Id recommend ordering one from Arbsession. They have the arbsession smiley painted on one (fine mesh) in stock, the regular fine mesh is out of stock. Arbsession gets stuff down here to Iowa pretty quick. I order most of my gear from them or wesspur usually.

    Frustrating things people do on a job......

    My biggest gripes are ground guys not keeping the ropes free of branches and debris when climbing. A close second would be guys leaving the side box doors open on the bucket truck open. Im not a huge fan of advertising all of the equipment actually in the truck.

    Ive been using the Omniblock mini 1.1" on my bridge for years. I replace it every three years and replace my bridge every 6 months even though it never shows that much wear. I wouldn't consider going back to anything else honestly.

    At the end of the day.. YOU decide where your values lay. Even though you didn't agree with the situation, or the improper work that they wanted to perform, you performed it anyway. It's only one job at the end of the day, if nothing else you gained an experience. Enjoy that pork chop!
