    It was a setup problem. I have tried a lot of times.. I ended up giving up on it and feeding the non-spliced end through and just pulling the rope through. Good idea William, like I said, I just end up pulling the whole line through to get to the splice.

    It's an "eye splice" from tree stuff. It does fit through once I cinch the splice closed with my throw line. However, I believe due to the 6" (approximate) of rope past the eye which does not bend, it can't make the 180 degree bend that is required.

    I have been using a buckingham friction saver with aluminum rings. The new rope is Samson vortex with a right eye splice.

    The only reason I would like to pull the eye through is time. Just pulling all of the rope through takes time (not much, it just all adds up).

    I did attach the throwline to the eye of the splice. After a few attempts of pulling it through like that, I added the half hitches to try to make the eye smaller. I'm thinking it's having trouble as the rope is rigid for about 6 inches for the splice. It won't bend and thus is having trouble...

    I tied a slippery anchor bend on the end of the splice and a few half hitches to try to cinch the eye as tight as I could.

    Hey everyone, I just bought a rope with a tight eye splice. It is 150' of Vortex from Tree Stuff. I haven't climbed with a spliced eye before. I couldn't get it through my friction saver. I ended up bringing the other end through. Does anyone have any tips?

    For those who want wheels on their gear transportation bag, I just thought of something right now. What about a hockey bag? My bag is huge. It would be able to hold a ton of gear.
