    Avant 528 vs cast 33d

I would imagine for the larger weight capacity. If one can have both, it's a great duo. Perfect combo for big jobs with huge trees and enough guys to keep it moving.

    Avant 528 vs cast 33d

Both machines I have mentioned are turf tired. They both see residential work most of the time. The giant with foam is faring well. The avant without foam has had 2 tires come of the rim do to terrain conditions and one flat from a puncture. The giant does well in any terrain, except for soupy...

    Avant 528 vs cast 33d

They add weight down low. Helps with counter balance and stability too. Doesn't require a bunch of air pressure for a stiff side wall. Seems the foam maintains that and allows a bit of tire flex. Almost like airing down for better traction. No worries of a flat either. The giant crew I...

    Avant 528 vs cast 33d

I don't know squat about Cast but fuck Avant. Outfit I work with has the 528. Thing looks like it's been rolled twice and fallen of the trailer 5 times. Plastic is for dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Another company I work with has the Lil Giant mentioned above. Night and day difference. Awesome in...

    New device from buckingham

Bump for the thread. I find this device intriguing. It may bridge the gap between a ZZ and an Akimbo? I'll definitely wait for more user feedback. "Wait" is a loose term here. I may never jump on this wagon.

Couldn't agree more. Some clients want to be sociable. I don't care to socialize and that turns some off.

    Battery ground saws

My smallest ported is a 80cc 7900 Dolmar. Love that sucka. My other is a 2100CD Hooskie. I call her "Big Hussie." 99cc with finger ports and a velocity stack. Haven't put her in wood yet. She sits.

I knew a guy who couldn't sell tree work. He didn't know what he was selling. When the client knows their tree better than the salesman, the bid ain't gonna bite. Levi, I know that's not the case for you. Been locked up inside with cabin fever. Longing for full work weeks instead of a weeks...

    Battery ground saws

Electric has the edge on torque. "Horsepower'' and chain speed is owned by the gassers. I have 2 ported saws with more to come. No battery saws at all in the arsenal. I'd like a top handled one but only for indoor use at the wood furnace. For those pesky pieces that are a bit to long....LOL.

Monkey Beaver 2.0 - newb questions

To add on about an earlier post, I too use an adjustable bridge. I prefer to put my gaffs on 1st. Then I open my bridge out fully, grab it and suspenders while putting saddle on over my head. Hang from suspenders, buckle everything and then adjust the bridge. With a bad hip, I dislike putting...

Monkey Beaver 2.0 - newb questions

This ^^^ The only time I use the rigging plates is when I'm using a long lanyard/secondary short climbing line for positioning. Otherwise, the side Ds feel....well, natural for me. No leg pads. Never tried them and read enough negative comments on them so, I didn't bother. Leg pad straps left...

DMM Keanu Rigging Trolley - SOLD

If you add a swivel, try one with ball bearings. I found regular swivels, under load, don't rotate freely. I had to reverse the twist by hand. To much tension on 5:1 block and tackle.....

    neighbor dies pulling vines

I hear that..... unfortunately, he's not mine to get rid off. Local outfit tries to schedule me when they need extra help. They rent the crane. I've known the Op for a looonngg time. Rode that ball a few times. Last was early summer for the same crew. He got his cable hung up a bit in some...
