    redneck chipper blade sharpening

Ok So I realize this isn't the perfect way to sharpen blades but in an extreme volume company we need sharp blades and have little time for changing and transporting to and from sharpeners if one can be found. So heres my way of increasing serviceable knife life...... $60 dollar belt sander...

Don't have Lombardi here. How many feet would you have to ascend in one to get it done?

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

In theory it is doable to just reverse the motor , however I would have to re engineer and test the whole design. I can't begin to go through the whole certification process again and I really don't see needing help to descend, my belly helps me do that!

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

I would never carry straight gas and jeopardize every saw I own! I fill mine up at home and if it runs out put mix in it.

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

I have never been a fan of basal anchors Coming down is easy but the beauty of the wraptor IMO is its complete safety due to the reason it can't come down. So I'm sending a desire for battery powered?? Obviously doable

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

I can't believe they are selling those! Omg talk about liability issue, wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't lead to criminal charges. Yes tanaka discontinued the drills which really messed me up. Current version uses honda 4 stroke matched with a custom planetary gearbox which drove our build...

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

Electric is becoming more viable with improved battery technology. I really don't want to go back to square one to make it reversible but have some ideas that may make it better for working the tree. Tree guys are notoriously rough on gear so I will try for a very durable design

Toxic Pwr Saws RISK to Workers

I used to run used motor oil for years but a customer pointed out that due to the combustion waste in it it is very carcinogenic to breath. I now run used hydraulic oil which I always seem to have a plentiful supply. I also ran canola oil for a year or so but man did it gum up the saws

Chipper loses prime after shut down

Check the fuel pressure coming into the injector pump. Could be a weak transfer pump or a loose fitting that is letting air into system

    Ropetek Wraptor redesign

So here at Ropetek I'm sorry to say my best friend and machinist is battling cancer. The current version of the Wraptor is pretty difficult to make so I'm trying to design an easier to make version Since we are brain storming I would like to invite current Wraptor users to make suggestions as...

Adding a crush cylinder to a 12" chipper

I put a cylinder on an old brush bandit years ago. Was cheap to do, I got a 2" cylinder from tractor supply for under $100 and a valve body. I'd say I had less than 300 in all told but I did the work. It was definitely a great addition to the chopper. As has already been stated sharpen your feed...
