You do only need twice the lenth just tie the midline knot just after you pull the end over the TIP then pull the throw line through the midline knot to send up the choke
Re: SRT multiple redirect flex
Swing... I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt the pull and hated it. I can see advantages to working SRT. But I'm also loving the Spiderjack and Pullysaver.
Re: SRT multiple redirect flex
thanks tom, all good points. I didn't feel any apprehension about the leads them selves as I would have tied into any 1 of them even higher on Ddrt. I thought of all installing a FS with a stopper behind it but I wanted to try the multiple redirects. The leads...
For a while now I have been utilizing the RIG for certain jobs where it seems the most efficient. Usually when I couldn't isolate my line or I was able to just set a static line directly over my work. But after reading the Buzz lately I decided to use srt to work a tree that I had to move...
I got mine in august and put it on some pretty clean (no sap, no natural crotch) blue moon (same as PI) that I had been using for ddrt. I started to get slippage after a only a few months. Although I was getting use to it and I also was getting used to a PULLYSAVER at the same time so I'm sure...
Re: Suddenly SRT basil anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!
I have recently switched to a Gri Gri at the base and started utilizing the RIG to work the tree after ascent. I can understand the thinking behind redundant backups on the basal anchor system if you are going to work secret weapon or srt on...
Re: Suddenly SRT basil anchors EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!
I started using a lowerable basal tie system mainly for the purpose of rescue during ascent on mechanical asender's where I would not be able to quickly descend. For this purpose the system would have to be quick to put to use and you would...
a colleague of mine just told me that this training is for 2 days but there is no information about a second day on the website has anyone heard about this
Ethan the best safety feature I've learned for working a spar is simply to add a small prussic on to your lanyard clip in a biner and choke your lanyard to the stem. that way if you do gaff out or get a big shake you won't go anywhere. it also prevents you from getting sucked in if a piece peels...
I personally can't stand the sticky gloves I have tried the atlas and a few other brands of the same style. I can't get more than a day or two out of them. I always end up having the sticky material peel off and bunch up in my hitch! The diamond sticky pattern on the ironclads does not peel off...

I've only had to do it once but I use'd a PETZL RIG. I had a hand ascender with a non locking revolver that I usually use in a RADS set up with me but I never needed it
Hey so apparently ironclad is having a 30 percent off sale that ends today. For those of you who aren't familiar ironclad makes the best gloves in the business! (IMO) Also their work apparel is great stuff too I wear the box handelers for climbing and super duty for rope running. I also love...
Tom, thanks for the kind words... There is a shut off for the upper controls in the bucket but nothing to shut off the override from the lowers.
Raven, it's cool I asked for it with that madman comment. I was just trying to allude to why I would allow pieces to be coming near hitting the truck...
I was recently doing a deadwooding job with a older bucket. It was one of those jobs where there were a bunch of trees throughout the yard and I was just driving around cleaning the canopies. I wasn't paying that much attention to where things went to do to the fact that there was nothing but...
the elevators are also really nice because they allow different angles to access your work. being able to raise the lower booms pivot point 10 feet up opens a lot of new angles. nice for sneaking through the branches or those times where you could reach it if you could just get the lower boom a...
