Hey Mick. What an interesting story. I usually don't have the attention span for an indoor pursuit like reading long forum post like that, but you hit a home run, Bud.
Maybe an engineer can tell me this. I'm using the rope wrench and one of the benefits it is purported to have is as a heat sink...
I have the zk/2 RW and love it. I will continue to explore other ways to deploy it than with the Petzl Foot pantin, though. There has to be a better way. I'd consider buying and using anything Singing Tree or ISC makes.

My 201 is Factory specs modded. But could someone explain me why it's necessary to mod a saw to make it a reasonable performing saw? Shouldn't a good saw perform brilliant stock factory brand new? Or is that too much to ask these days.

It's too much to ask. The best thing...
Tom, I've heard some reference made to ultrasonic cleaning for chainsaw parts. Might be worth a look. I mentioned Challenger Cleaner in your other thread and somebody had concerns for it for washing certain metals, but for degumming your chains and guide bars, I don't think you can miss with it...
I'm lookin' for those vids, EHP. You'd think after listening to a two-stroke whine all day, the last thing to do would be watch them on the computer, but I'll watch that. I've not seen anyone yet do the mild port on the MS261. They are going extreme and taking off the strato system. Even...

I stopped at my local Stihl dealer today while I was out and about to get a price on a couple new saws. I'm looking for a new MS201T-14" and a new MS261-20" (as noted above the MS260 has been replaced but apparently the 261 is very similar). Quoted prices were $540 and $568...
The brothers on the street are the ones to enforce a smoking ban. I usually enforce it when I see people smoke at gas pumps. People act hostile toward governmental encroachment. The sad truth is if someone is too dumb to act in their own best self-interest, the government is more than willing to...
If the tree has come to a threatening position in relation to humans, I have to do threatening things to it. Really comes down to risk assessment. People should think it out before boring off half the roots to put a basement under tree. Moore hasn't been "awakened" by a Sugar Maple coming...
Re:hiring 4 All positions..
I checked out your website. Very cool. My friend that sounds like some good opportunity. She would never relocate close to cities. If you are close to the Pine Barrens, maybe I can drag her caveman style.
Hey good website, and good luck. I like what your company is...
Full Floater, Bel-Ray, Fox, yes it all is flooding back. Some talk in the woods about running 100 LL av fuel. We used to race on airplane fuel the red stuff smelled like...ahhhh. Made the push mower sound like a helicopter. That's probably not legal, just because LL is Low Lead, but not...
Like it. If I woulda taken a close look at the complexity of the carburetor, I would have bought another 460 just to be old school a few more years. The M-Tronic took awhile to agree with me. I fired it up to do some emergency clearing at the lake, and was done so fast, the chip stored some...
I love mine. Without any mods, it is just as fine as the 200. I have a MS200T NOS in box. They are bringing around $800. I'm going to keep it. I think people would be much happier with your MS201T if you ran a higher grade than pump gas. As incredible as the fuel efficiency of this saw is, look...
Breathe. Get conscious of the tension. Relax almost systematically. Visualization and planning helps prevent stress. Get the chains sharp and know where things are. Nothing makes stress escalate faster than disorganization.
And strawberry milkshake with real fruit in the blender with fresh home...
