    My guess is you haven't been in a tree yet that you actually came down on it end to end of the rope. So the slack hasn't got to milf the full length of the rope. Helps for me to cut off the melted cut end and just leave tape on the end to allow the cover to milk over the core.

    Rope grab would be nice but in the event of shock loading would have to worry about it cutting/stripping the rigging line. So I have always just used a 7 wrap french prussic to attach mine as well I keep the slack tended on the porty to prevent overloading the fiddle block.
