    Replacement heater core - Aluminum

Despite my reservations about the "drive around with the cap loose" method, I'm glad to hear it is back to working correctly.

    Replacement heater core - Aluminum

I don't want to challenge another forum user, but I don't agree with that advice. The cap seals in the coolant until it expands enough to make it to the overflow tank. Leaving it loose allows air to get in as the system cools. It will also make a mess since the expanding coolant mostly won't go...

    Replacement heater core - Aluminum

The years and attachment on the other end of the cable vary a bit. The HVAC box diagram and temp door remain the same as well as the general termination of the cable at the door surrounding the year of your truck. I hope it helps, the weather is only going to get colder.

    Replacement heater core - Aluminum

I think the sweet smell is close to a 100% diagnosis that you needed a heater core. On that truck the control cable is right above the heater core access door. Improperly re-clipping during installation can cause the heater to not heat properly (the temp door I suggested in another post). It is...

    tree stuff, its been real....

From my personal view, I don't think ripping into the people that come here that are representing a company is a good practice until all other avenues have been exhausted concerning each person's individual order. That is different that sharing facts, or maybe even emotions about a messed up...

    Replacement heater core - Aluminum

There is something else wrong. 99% of new cars and trucks use aluminum heater cores. When you consider the internal corrosion that is inevitable, and the oxidation that occurs to external exposed copper the aluminum transfers more heat than copper. You can paint the copper on the outside, but...

    tree stuff, its been real....

My last transaction was a mess at Sherrill. The super short story ... stuff never shipped ... didn't keep promises ... finally sent dirty used PPE ... tried to charge me for their mistakes. It was enough nonsense that I'm done. When I figured out that TS was owned by ST, I just assumed that the...

    Bar oil/friendliness

I'll take the bait as a conversation because the post was from a member with many posts. Veg oil does not make as good of a lubricant as petrol oil. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1877705813020183 Even at loads of a few hundred pounds it fails quickly. I think that the link...

Family life and a Start up business?

I started, worked for, and ran a fleet service business. I owned it for 5 years. It did eat up some of my life. I managed it a few ways, and I'l list them. But first let me say that everyone is different and every family is diffferent. My stuff may not work. First set expectations with your...

    Don't take Certifications for Granted

I think people in general put too much weight in certifications and enforcement. I understand that a demonstration of knowledge is one way to get a piece of paper, and it shows the holder once knew the material. Their decision making and behavior are another thing entirely. It is another layer...

New article up on the home page...

As a new climber, I think the article has merit in other regions. The training I have received so far has been full of contradictions and conjecture. It is as much about how one person opinion matches the process as it is about a recognized safe process. The problems don't end with official...
